BUMPDATE: Week 37

Husband Commentary: "2/11 is in 2 weeks...oh god"
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 37 weeks; baby is getting her meconium ready...yucky.

Size of baby: As big as romaine lettuce

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 36 lbs.

Symptoms: Pelvic pain. Nerve pain. Baby punches and kicks. Headaches. Fatigue. You know, the usual.

Physical changes: My belly just keeps stretching. It's wild! How is my uterus this big?! Everything else keeps getting thicker.

Labor signs: Lots of pelvic pressure. Lots of pee. Lots of restless nights.

Stretch marks: Some belly button stretchmarks.

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: I bought some comfy, oversized pj tops for the hospital and some maternity bras off of Amazon. I'm ready!

Diet: Diet is out the window! I'm enjoying these last few weeks!

Food cravings:

        • Any and all fruit - oranges especially
        • Gummy bears
        • Dumplings
        • Warm soups and stews
        • Sourdough bread

Food aversions: None.

Exercise: Do breathing exercises count?

Sleep: Sleep has been up and down this week. The vivid dreams are back!

Miss anything in particular: I miss my old self already. I keep dwelling on it and I hate it. As much as I'm excited for this new chapter in my life, I'm really going to miss being young and carefree. And childless.

Mood: Happy. Terrified. Anxious.

Looking forward to: My next OB appointment and checking to see if my cervix is dilated at all. Also, the baby is due to arrive any day now...so looking forward to that as well. Eee!

Worst moment this week: Needing to return picture frames to IKEA and I couldn't even lift the dang box. My poor body. I can't wait to get back in shape.

Best moment this week: Getting MLK Jr. Day off and using the opportunity spend one-on-one time with Maddie. I wish I could tell her about the baby and prepare her for what's to come.

BUMPDATE: Week 36

Husband Commentary: "I've never had papaya before either..." (He tried mangos for the first time recently)
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 36 weeks; baby is continuing to beef up!

Size of baby: As big as a papaya

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 36 lbs.

Symptoms: My pelvic/vaginal pressure is killing me. At times, I feel like my uterus is going to fall out.

Physical changes: My belly looks super stretched and my face has been really dry. I haven't been able to crack my back due to the relaxin hormone. Sad.

Labor signs: Baby is still super active. She's head down and I'm constantly needing to pee. And I'm definitely waddling now...I noticed that my pelvis felt different this week and that's the only comfortable way to walk. She's coming soon, guys!

Stretch marks: Some belly button stretchmarks.

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: I just got my Bravado maternity bra in the mail and it's SO COMFORTABLE. Definitely worth the extra expense.

Diet: Trying so hard to cut out sweets, but it's so hard!

Food cravings:

        • Any and all fruit
        • Fish
        • Mexican food
        • Sweets - Chocolate, cookies, gummy bears
        • Sourdough bread

Food aversions: None.

Exercise: None. My body just won't cooperate.

Sleep: Sleep has been up and down this week. I had a dream about seeing baby girl's foot through my belly and also a dream about what she'll look like as a toddler! So weird.

Miss anything in particular: I feel like I'm losing my full range of motion and it makes life really difficult. I especially hate putting on shoes and hate having to get up after laying down.

Mood: Happy. Feeling supported and loved.

Looking forward to: Our hospital tour later today.

Worst moment this week: It has been such a gloomy week. I could use some sunlight right about now.

Best moment this week: Going to our ultrasound this week to check on baby's growth. Everything appears normal and she's HEAD DOWN! woo hoo!

BUMPDATE: Week 35

Husband Commentary: "Little Smoosh video is creepy" (I was able to record baby girl rolling in my belly and I agree that it looks super weird!)
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 35 weeks; baby is getting bigger and my uterus has grown about 1000 times its original size!

Size of baby: As big as a pineapple

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 35 lbs.

Symptoms: Forever tired. Low energy. Increasing pelvic/vaginal pressure.

Physical changes: Everything is thicker/wider. My face looked really different to me this week.

Labor signs: Standard Braxton-Hicks contractions everyday. Baby was VERY active this week. I felt like she was trying to escape! I also think I'm starting to see some mucus plug discharge...eek!

Stretch marks: Some belly button stretchies, but that's about it. Not in my genetics, so I probably won't get too many stretch marks.

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: I bought a super cute maternity dress that I can also wear postpartum. Score!

Diet: I'm still eating whatever I want. I've been trying to cut sweets, but I can't stop thinking about it!

Food cravings:

        • Any fruit
        • Fish
        • Spicy foods
        • Sweets (mainly Oreos, honey graham crackers, Hostess Donettes and Jelly Bellys)
        • Sourdough bread

Food aversions: None.

Exercise: I walked on a treadmill for 15 minutes this week and thought I was 1) going to die or 2) go into labor.

Sleep: Sleep has been relatively good. Not bad, but also not great.

Miss anything in particular: Working up a sweat. I feel like my pores are screaming and just want to pump out some sweat.

Mood: I'm feeling exhausted but happy!

Looking forward to: Our ultrasound next Thursday.

Worst moment this week: ALL THE SNOW.

Best moment this week: Staying indoors all weekend and getting to "nest" like a crazy.

BUMPDATE: Week 34

Husband Commentary: "...you ate 6 Oreos in less than a minute."
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 34 weeks; baby recognizes voices and songs

Size of baby: As big as a butternut squash

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 34 lbs.

Symptoms: Headaches. Fatigue. Low energy. Some pelvic pressure.

Physical changes: I'm getting thicker that's for sure. Hips look wider. Calves look more swollen on some days.

Labor signs: No major signs...still feeling Braxton-Hicks contractions every day though. I feel like those are becoming more frequent.

Stretch marks: Nothing noticeable. I do feel like my belly button looks super weird and will be wrinkly post-partum.

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: My 2-in-1 belly wrap has been really useful, but it does put extra pressure on my bladder. I definitely pee WAY more often when I wear it, but I don't think I can live without it at this point. I still haven't bought maternity shirts and don't think I'll have to. I'm still wearing my Target pants and jeans.

Diet: I'm trying to avoid sugar, but it's difficult. The holidays ruined my whole game plan!

Food cravings:

        • Citrus fruits...all fruits really. The juicier the better!
        • Fish
        • Spicy foods
        • Cakes and cookies
        • Sourdough bread

Food aversions: None.

Exercise: I haven't exercised in weeks! I don't feel great about it, but all I want to do is be a potato. I was mainly just walking anyways, and I probably walk enough throughout the day.

Sleep: Sleep has been good this week! I'm consistently waking up before the alarm, but at least it isn't at 3-4AM anymore.

Miss anything in particular: Sleeping without a bowling ball on me.

Mood: Happy! My friend Sarra came to visit for the weekend and her company was something I didn't know I needed. It was so nice getting to catch up with her.

Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound! Hopefully the baby is doing fine!

Worst moment this week: Getting the tdap shot...I hate shots! Also, forgetting about our hospital tour. Now we have to wait till the 26th. Let's hope baby doesn't come before that or else we will have no idea where to go when I'm in labor.

Best moment this week: Long 4-day weekend. Short work week. And got lots of rest. Feeling good!
