BUMPDATE: Week 33

Husband Notes: "your belly button is prolapsing..."
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 33 weeks; baby has developed his or her own immune system

Size of baby: As big as celery

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 32 lbs.

Symptoms: The fatigue is back! Thanks a lot, third trimester.

Physical changes: My belly button is still an innie. Belly is feeling extra itchy this week.

Labor signs: Braxton-Hicks contractions felt stronger this week

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: Belly Bandit's 2-in-1 belly wrap has been giving me LIFE! It takes a lot of the pressure off my pelvic girdle and is providing much needed support and comfort. Better yet, it can be used postpartum to bring the hips back in.

Diet: I swear I've gained another 10 lbs just from all the Christmas cookies consumed.

Food cravings:

        • Citrus fruits and tropical fruits
        • Apples
        • Fish
        • Spicy foods (Takis Fuego is my jam right now)
        • Cakes and cookies
        • Bread

Food aversions: Pork? It's the only thing that doesn't sound appetizing.

Exercise: Who has time to exercise during the holidays?

Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good this week. I've learned that coffee only makes it worse for me, so sticking to tea and coke during desperate times.

Miss anything in particular: Sleeping without a bowling ball on me.

Mood: Happy to have a 4-day weekend all to myself. Let the nesting begin!

Looking forward to: Finally putting the crib together!

Worst moment this week: Not getting to go bowling with my friends, because I felt so tired and large.

Best moment this week: Spending time with friends and family. It was exhausting, but it was nice getting to enjoy the holidays before the little one arrives.

Size of baby: As big as a squash

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 31 lbs.

Symptoms: Headaches are still present this week. Digestion issues are under control for now. General discomfort is just a part of life now.

Physical changes: Skin feeling dry...not sure if it's winter-related or pregnancy-related. My belly button is still an innie.

Labor signs: Feeling Braxton-Hicks contractions every day

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: Still doing fine without maternity shirts...but if this belly gets bigger...

Diet: Always hungry and never satiated. Pregnancy problems. Sigh.

Food cravings:
        • Honey graham crackers - been eating these like crazy!

        • Citrus fruits and tropical fruits
        • Milk
        • Spicy foods - buffalo sauce!
        • Chocolate
        • Popcorn

Food aversions: Pork? It's the only thing that doesn't sound appetizing.

Exercise: We've been busy, so I haven't walked much this week. I've been doing prenatal yoga at home and it's really helping my lower back issues.

Sleep: Sleep has been AWFUL this week. I've been trying to combat my fatigue by incorporating coffee into my diet, but it seems to be making my sleep worse.

Miss anything in particular: Sleeping without a bowling ball on me.

Mood: Up and down. The exhaustion is making me cranky.

Looking forward to:

Worst moment this week:

Best moment this week: Celebrating Evan's birthday!

How far along: 30 weeks; baby's skin is getting smoother and the brain is getting wrinklier

Size of baby: As big as a zucchini

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 29 lbs.

Symptoms: Headaches are still present this week. Digestion issues are under control for now. General discomfort is just a part of life now.

Physical changes: Skin feeling dry...not sure if it's winter-related or pregnancy-related. My belly button is STILL an innie. I don't think it'll "pop".

Labor signs: Feeling Braxton-Hicks contractions every day

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: Still doing fine without maternity shirts...but if this belly gets bigger...

Diet: Always hungry and never satiated. Pregnancy problems. Sigh.

Food cravings:
        • Honey graham crackers - been eating these like crazy!

        • Citrus fruits and tropical fruits

        • Chocolate
        • Popcorn

Sleep: I'm consistently waking up at 4:30AM...not sure why. I don't need to use the restroom or anything. I guess my body is just done sleeping at that time.

Miss anything in particular:

Mood: I've been a little depressed this week. I keep having anxiety about how different my life will be. I'm worried about not being able to devote as much time to other people. Now that we know it's a baby girl, I feel like I have this new responsibility to guide her and be an example for her.

Looking forward to: Catching up on sleep. Long week of work and OB appointments.

Worst moment this week:

Best moment this week: Celebrating Evan's birthday!

December 8, 2018

BUMPDATE: Week 30

Husband Notes"I just noticed your belly button...it looks...weird."
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 30 weeks; baby's skin is getting smoother and the brain is getting wrinklier

Size of baby: As big as a zucchini

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 28 lbs.

Symptoms: The third trimester is taking over...I'm tired again!

Physical changes: My linea negra is getting darker and more noticeable! It looks so weird!

Labor signs: Feeling Braxton-Hicks contractions every day

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: Still doing fine without maternity shirts...but if this belly gets bigger...

Diet: Always hungry and never satiated. Pregnancy problems. Sigh.

Food cravings:
        • Honey graham crackers - been eating these like crazy!

        • Citrus fruits and tropical fruits
        • Milk
        • Spicy foods - buffalo sauce!
        • Chocolate
        • Popcorn

Food aversions: Pork? It's the only thing that doesn't sound appetizing.

Exercise: We've been busy, so I haven't walked much this week. I've been doing prenatal yoga at home and it's really helping my lower back issues.

Sleep: I'm consistently waking up at 4AM...not sure why. I don't need to use the restroom or anything. I guess my body is just done sleeping at that time.

Miss anything in particular: Having energy. I feel like I'm slowing down again.

Also looking forward to catching up with friends and family for the rest of the month.

Worst moment this week: We painted the master bedroom, nursery, and kitchen walls white last weekend and the paint looks BLUE. The color we chose was White Moderne by Behr. It had yellow tones to it, but it also had black in it as well...which killed the creamy tones of the paint color. I'm super bummed about it, but there's not much we can do. We tried to get the color adjusted by adding more bright yellow, but it still looks off. Sad.

Best moment this week: Finding Maddie! Evan locked her in the basement before he left and I was frantically looking for her for a good 10-15 minutes.

December 1, 2018

BUMPDATE: Week 29

Husband Notes: "I was right! ...and I'm going to hate my life in about 15-18 years" (He guessed that it would be a girl...he's always right, ugh)
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 29 weeks; baby has fat storage now and has more energy because of it!

Size of baby: As big as an acorn squash

Gender: Baby GIRL!

Total weight gain: 27 lbs.

Symptoms: Headaches and pelvic pains have been really awful this week. The heartburn and indigestion is getting worse and disrupting my sleep.

Physical changes: Okay, I thought my belly was out...but it's really out now! Still have an innie!

Labor signs: Feeling Braxton-Hicks contractions at least two to three times a day.

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: Still doing fine without maternity shirts...but if this belly gets bigger...

Diet: Always hungry and never satiated. Pregnancy problems. Sigh.

Food cravings:
        • Honey graham crackers

        • Cereal
        • Milk
        • Spicy foods - buffalo sauce!
        • Chocolate
        • All fruits (pineapples, apples, grapefruit, oranges)
        • Popcorn

Food aversions: No major aversions.

Exercise: We've been busy, so I haven't walked much this week. I've been doing prenatal yoga at home and it's really helping my lower back issues.

Sleep: My quality of sleep has definitely gone down...

Miss anything in particular: My friends. Intimate events, like our baby shower and gender reveal, reminded me of all the wonderful people I've met throughout my life and sometimes I wish I could have more time with them. Or I wish we could go back in time and relive old memories.

Mood: Still feeling loved and happy. Evan's mom threw us a super cute baby shower last weekend and we got so many useful items for our nursery. Thank you again everyone!

Looking forward to: Hanging out with Daniel this weekend!

Worst moment this week: Getting my blood drawn again. I'm having anxiety about passing the glucose screening.

Best moment this week: Painting our master bedroom and "nursery"...so happy to get rid of the yellow walls! But still sucks that it's not really the right color.

November 24, 2018

BUMPDATE: Week 28

Husband Notes: "please be more careful on the stairs..." (I fell down a few stairs this week...oops)
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 28 weeks; made it to the third trimester...baby is putting on more fat!

Size of baby: As big as an eggplant

Gender: We revealed the gender at our baby shower today...we're having a GIRL!!

Total weight gain: 25 lbs.

Symptoms: The leg cramps are getting worse, but prenatal yoga seems to be helping it. Heartburn and indigestion is still a common occurrence.

Physical changes: I feel like my belly got WAY rounder this week.

Labor signs: I feel Braxton-Hicks contractions at least two to three times a day.

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: Still avoiding most maternity clothes...maternity pants and jeans are wardrobe lifesavers though!

Diet: I'm always hungry, but I'm constantly worried about overeating. It's killing me. Pregnancy heartburn is no joke.

Food cravings:
        • Chocolate, cakes and cookies

        • Milk
        • Soups and stews
        • Spicy foods - buffalo sauce!
        • Grape tomatoes
        • Grapes
        • Popcorn

Food aversions: No major aversions.

Exercise: Walking on the incline trainer. Prenatal yoga (aka breathing and stretching).

Sleep: Still sleeping good! Trying to sleep while I still can!

Miss anything in particular: An ordinary sense of smell. Having a "dog nose" and being able to smell everything around me is pretty terrible.

Mood: Feeling overjoyed and grateful. We had the best Thanksgiving / baby shower / gender reveal thanks to our family and friends.

Looking forward to: Using "she" and "her" pronouns.

Worst moment this week: Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday and I'm sad it's all over.

Best moment this week: Finding out that Baby O'Shea is a girl! I seriously thought it would be a boy. Evan thought it was a girl...why is he's always right!

......................................

November 17, 2018

BUMPDATE: Week 27

Husband Notes: "The cravings are back! Also, when do I start freaking out?"
............................................................

Due date: February 11, 2019

How far along: 27 weeks; baby is showing brain activity!

Size of baby: As big as lettuce

Gender: We will be revealing the gender at our baby shower! One more week till we find out!

Total weight gain: 24 lbs.

Symptoms: Heartburn, indigestion, leg cramps, heavier breathing

Physical changes: I'm wider all over. Belly feels way bigger. Belly button is still an innie somehow.

Labor signs: Feeling the Braxton-Hicks contractions from time to time.

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: I bought a maternity support belt (by Ingrid and Isabel) from Target to elongate my regular tops. I'm hoping I won't have to buy any maternity tops - fingers crossed. The support belt is supposed to help keep your pants up too, but I don't think it's as effective for that. It does have a silicone strip at the bottom so it feels secure around your hips and prevents the belt from riding up.

Diet: Still hungry all the time, because I've been needing to cut down my portion sizes to prevent heartburn and indigestion. I always have the urge to binge eat, but I know my body won't be able to handle it.

Food cravings:
        • Green grapes

        • Milk
        • Soups and stews
        • Spicy foods - buffalo sauce!
        • Grape tomatoes

Food aversions: No major aversions.

Exercise: Walking on the incline trainer.

Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good. Worst dream I had this week was about Trump and politics...woke up at 4am and couldn't fall back asleep.

Miss anything in particular: Putting on shoes without getting out of breath.

Mood: Annoyed. Happy but annoyed. Crappy weather is the worst.

Looking forward to: Thanksgiving and the baby shower/gender reveal! 1 week!

Worst moment this week: The snow. It's pretty...but awful for pregnant ladies.

Best moment this week: Shane was in St. Louis for work...worst week ever but best company ever!

November 10, 2018

Size of baby: As big as kale

Gender: We will be revealing the gender at our baby shower! Couple more weeks till we find out!

Total weight gain: 23 lbs.

Symptoms: Heartburn, indigestion, leg cramps, pelvic floor pains

Labor signs: Really feeling the Braxton-Hicks contractions.

Stretch marks: None

Wedding ring: On

Maternity clothes: Well, it's probably time for maternity tops...all my shirts feel like baby tees at this point.

Diet: I'm feel like I'm ALWAYS hungry...diet is whatever food I can get my hands on.

Food cravings:
        • Green grapes

        • Cake
        • Soups and stews
        • Spicy foods - buffalo sauce!
        • Grape tomatoes
        • Pizza

Food aversions: No major aversions.
