Forever 21 Haul (dresses & jewelry) 2012

So as promised, I said I would itemize all of my purchases from Forever21.com in this blog post.  I was able to insert direct links for the dresses mentioned in the video posted above.  Click on any of the links below for more information on the product and for appropriate sizing.  Happy Shopping, my loves!
1.) Belted Swing Dress
2.) Lace Fit & Flare Dress
3.) Essential Ponte Knit Sheath Dress
4.) Painted Curb Chain Bracelet
5.) Linen-Blend Shirtdress
6.) Plunging Mesh Inset Bodycon Dress
7.) Rose Bloom Tie Waist Dress
8.) Threaded Popcorn Chain Necklace -- no longer available online
9.) Chiffon Floral Dress -- navy & pink --no longer available online
10.) Summer Floral Dress -- blue & white -- no longer available online

***The "Lace Fit & Flare Dress" listed above was not shown in the video, because I returned that dress already.  I forgot to mention something about that purchase so I will take the time to elaborate on that now.  The dress was in a beautiful milky coral lace (F21 called it lobster bisque) and I loved everything about this dress except for the length.  I'm only 5' 5" and this dress was like a tunic on me.  It was WAY too short.  I was super disappointed that I had to return this dress...I wish it was longer***

Bath & Body Works Candle Haul - Semi-Annual Sale 2012

So I went to Bath & Body Works yesterday and bought eight 14.5 oz. candles (4 scents, 2 of each).
I filmed a quick haul video of what I got so check it out if you're interested.  Still photos below.

Please SUBSCRIBE on YouTube and LIKE the video if you want to see more hauls :)

I love the fruitiness and juiciness of Pink Sangria.
Initially, I thought it smelled like gummy bears :) but it smells so much better than that when burned.
A whiff makes my mouth instantly water!

First bloom is a lovely, light scent.
It smells very clean, fresh, and dewy to me.
Such a perfect understated springtime scent.

I usually despise lavender scented candles because of how pungent and earthy they usually are, but Lavender Market is very soft and powdery.   The spearmint and lilac adds a light sweetness and crispness to the candle which helps balance out the heavy lavender scent.

I absolutely ADORE the soft and feminine scent of French Garden.
It has a very happy, "loving life" aura about it.
You can't help but smile when you smell this!

JULEP Maven | July 2012

I had such a difficult time choosing which Maven style to go with this month.
I wanted every Maven box!

My typical style is Classic with a Twist (July 2012 box):

I love pink anything, but I ended up choosing the July 2012 Boho Glam box, because I think coral shades look best on my skin tone...especially in the summer.

This is the box I received this month:

I also received a free polish called America, in celebration of 4th of July:

Canadian Mavens received O Canada! instead.  Since America has little stars in it, I wish O Canada! had little maple leaves or something...would have been a nice touch.

After receiving my box, and my add-ons Lynn and Audrey (Mavens receive one box per month and can add-on two items from the current month's selections for $4.99 each), I'm regretful of my Boho Glam box decision.  I love my Lynn add-on and wish I could try Yumi and the Peony lip gloss.

The American Beauty box just feels more me:

Regardless, I do still love my Boho Glam box, but I know I would have loved America Beauty more.

Here is my video review of this months box:

Mischa: turned out to be a more orangey coral rather than pinky coral...not my favorite.
Georgia: a beautiful cherry-scarlet color just as it is described.
Poppy (lip gloss): a beautiful, sheer coral lip gloss that isn't too sticky and smells light and sweet.
America: a super fun glitzy nail polish for 4th of July...tres fab!

Julep Quote of the Month:
"We need less posturing and more genuine charisma.
It's about a sparkle in people that money can't buy."

4th of July Nails & Outfit & Fireworks

Hello, Happy 4th of July!  The fireworks were so beautiful and uplifting tonight.

Usually, my 4th of July consists of the 3 Fs: food, family, and friends.  This year, it was a bit different and very emotionally draining.  My mom isn't home, because she had to leave for Taiwan at the last minute.  Her brother, who is in his 40s, was diagnosed with diabetes and failing kidneys a few years ago and his health has been dwindling ever since.  I knew that a day like this would come, but I didn't think it would be so soon.  He's unable to breathe on his own right now and was rushed to the hospital's intensive care unit.  He may not make it which is why my mom had to leave so quickly.

If you're reading this, please pray for my uncle.

Thank you all for your support and I love you all.

On a lighter note...
Here are my nails for today and the products I used to achieve this look:
THUMBS: Maybelline Wet Shine (20 Shimmering Snow) + Julep (America)
POINTER & RING: Sally Hansen Magnetic (906 Ionic Indigo)
MIDDLE & PINKY: Sally Hansen Hards As Nails Diamond (Ruby Diamond)

Here is my outfit today ( OOTD ):
F21 white tank, Tommy Hilfiger high waisted shorts, Willow & Clay cobalt crochet cover up,
Liz Claiborne vintage floral backpack, Hollister sandals (not pictured)

I made these shorts - here is the link for my DIY High Waisted Denim Shorts video:

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th!

[OOTD] Cropped tee + DIY high waisted denim shorts

I really want to start posting more outfit of the day (OOTD) material!

I always forget to do it and so many of you guys request it.  So here is an OOTD post!  This is already on my Instagram (@INSTAjenncyu) but I wanted to post it on my blog as well because I know some of you don't have Instagram.

I'm wearing a pretty simple outfit today:
1.) Braided headwrap is from Forever21
2.) Cropped "Forever is LOVE" tee from American Eagle (I wish I showed the back of it because that's my favorite part of the shirt)
3.) High waisted denim shorts that I made myself.  Bought an old pair of Tommy Hilfiger mom jeans and fashioned them into shorts.
Here is my DIY video for the shortshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWtpx8-GKHw
